The journey of ESAE from establishment to becoming Ethiopia's leading agricultural engineering society
The Ethiopian Society of Agricultural Engineers was founded by a group of visionary agricultural engineers recognizing the need for a professional body to unite practitioners, researchers, and educators across Ethiopia.
Successfully organized the inaugural national conference in Addis Ababa, bringing together over 200 agricultural engineers from universities, research institutions, government agencies, and private sector.
Expanded membership to over 100 professionals and established partnerships with international agricultural engineering societies, including Pan African Society of Agricultural Engineers (PASA) and KSAE (Kenyan Society of Agricultural Engineers).
Formed specialized technical committees in mechanization, irrigation, post-harvest, soil and water engineering, and precision agriculture to address sector-specific challenges and opportunities.

PhD in Post-Harvest Engineering, University of Valladolid, MSc in Post Harvest Engineering. Role: Oversees daily operations and coordinates technical committees with expertise in food processing and storage technologies.
PhD in Agricultural Mechanization Engineering (Bahir Dar University / University College Dublin); MSc in Agricultural and Bioresource Engineering with a minor in GIS and Remote Sensing (Wageningen University). Role: Responsible for managing ESAE publications and ensuring the quality and integrity of technical content.
